Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter and youngest child of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5th, 1956 in Woodland Hills California. Her father worked as a school teacher and her mother as an at-home mom. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. McCormick began singing and dancing in her early years and frequently performed plays with puppets for children in her area. When McCormick was six years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency approached her and asked her whether she'd like to go into the show business. McCormick was hired to star in her first big role in 1964 in an tv commercial featuring Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. The commercial was re-run in 1964, for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the main character in Wind It up and It is Broken, a show at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was picked from a field of 1,200 kids who auditioned for the chance to play the eldest of three towheaded daughters on the new TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show ran for five seasons. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice released in 2008, McCormick revealed that during the shows fifth season she nearly lost her virginity to her screen co-star and brother Barry Williams. In 2008, she revealed in her book, Here's the Truth: surviving Marcia and Finding My True Voice that in season five on the show, she was close to losing her virginity to Barry Williams. She said that it would have been feasible, but it was never the best moment to make the decision.
